Zoey Zone by Margie Palatini

Zoey Zinevich is almost eleven and counting down the days until she starts middle school, even though its 198 days away. First thing on her list to do: become chic and befriend the Bashleys so she doesn’t have to sit at table 10. This dream seems to at a standstill until a magazine comes to school to take pictures and changes Zoey’s perspectives on chic. Zoey shines in this classic tale of wanting to fit in. Palatini does a great job of updating the tale to include current behavior of children in that age range e.g. the use of a youtube like scheme incorporated into the illustrations. Great for everyone who always wanted a fairy godmother but got something completely different.
